December Photo Project 12 29 09

What do you see when you look in your crystal ball?

A few of my favorite photos from 2009

I loved the bright blue of these electrical boxes contrasted with the rust at an old steel mill.

My mother loved camellias.  She planted them in several places in her garden.  She said they reminded her of her childhood.  My mother passed away November 9, 2009.

The dead flower represents the empty spot in my heart now that mom is gone.

No garden is complete without a garden spider.

Zebra from the Birmingham Zoo
Animals are one of my favorite subjects to photograph.  I took hundreds of animal photos in 2009.

The best thing that happened in my life in 2009 was the birth of my Godson!

December Photo Projece: 12 27 09

No matter how clear the signage or how bright the light, journeying alone sometimes leads to panic.

December Photo Project; 12 26 09

I went to the post office today to check the mail.  It was full of my parent's forwarded mail for me to deal with.  Anyway, as I walked back to my jeep, I saw the back of this restaurant illuminated in stark contrast of the clear winter sunlight.

Some places and things and the baby I saw on Christmas

This is the view from the front porch when I went outside the first time today.

I like to have a glass of eggnog on Christmas each year.

I spent some time hanging out in the living room before time to go.

Everything is loaded in the jeep and I'm off to my brother's house for Christmas part one.

There is his dog ready to greet me at the gate.

Here is a slightly better shot of the dog.

Some lovely things in my brother's kitchen.

This is a pitiful photo of his Christmas tree.

After visiting with my brother, sister, and their families, I went to visit my friends at their parents house.  Here is my godson not paying a bit of attention to me at all.  rofl
It was a merry Christmas after all.

Memories of Christmas past

When she was alive, my mother collected these little Department 56 houses and all the people, trees, and things that went with them. She created lovely little scenes in a huge display case in her sun room. There must be a couple of hundred of them.
I'll be taking all this down and selling her collection in the coming months.

Have a Coke and a smile. It's the way it should be and I'd like to see the whole world smiling'

Neither snow nor rain nor sleet will keep the beer man from his deliveries.

People who see things as only yes/no, good/evil, black/white,
sinful/righteous, beautiful/ugly... are missing the nuances of existence.
Life isn't black or white. It is all one can imagine. Dream your life as colorful, happy, fun, and wonderful as you can.
